In the boom period, the constructions had 11% share in GDP and contributed with a third to the economic growth at that time, reaching over 7%, according to ZF calculations based on the data sent by the National Institute for Statistics.

„A normal country, with a healthy economy, should have a contribution of the constructions sector to the GDP of 12-15%“, said Adriana Iftime, vice-president of the Construction Companies Patronage and executive director of the Patronages Federation of Construction Companies.

Despite the fact that Romania registered last year a slight economic growth of 3.5%, the constructions industry didn’t contribute to this GDP growth, which was supported by agriculture and exports. (Source: zf.ro)
